About the Role

Our Power of Produce (POP) Club coordinator is an invaluable role at the Murray Park Farmers Market. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the running of a farmers market kids program. From morning setup, to purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables, to helping with signage, this person is the passion and face of our popular kids program. POP Club teaches kids about farmers, the value of eating fresh food, and exposure to new and different fruits and veggies many of them have never tried. The POP Club Coordinator is responsible for setting up and breaking down the POP Club booth and signage, overseeing the POP Club activities during the market, and engaging with kids and their parents. The candidate must be a self-starter, interested in working with kids and families, and willing to work in an outdoor market setting.
Time:
10% Opening and closing the market, including market info booth and vendor entry & exit
70% Administering our POP Club kids program
10% Helping vendors and customers with questions or concerns
10% Assisting market operations

Responsibilities:
- Attend all Saturdays of the Murray Farmers Market for the season ( Saturdays from 7-2, August 1 -October 31st)
- Coordinate with Market Coordinator to plan and execute weekly children's activities
- Stall set up & breakdown
- Track POP club passports
- Distribute POP Club passports, prizes
- Maintain accurate records of POP Club newsletter list
- Assist with data collection during market hours, including headcounts and surveys
Qualifications:
- Passion for promoting access to healthy food and supporting local agriculture
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Interest in working with kids in a positive, fun atmosphere
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with diverse populations
- Comfortable working in an outdoor market environment
